DJB & MCH 5-Year Reissue!!!

Five years after the influential rap duo of DJ Bradford and MC Hanley released their monumental debut, Beatin the Squares, they are back at it, releasing a retrospective reissue, Beatin the Squares ... Again. The album includes all the classic DJB & MCH material, a new cover, 3 new song titles and 4 previously unreleased tracks.

Acclaim for the album has been very high. Pitchfork Media, a popular indie music website, says "Unfortunately, due to the large volume of albums we receive to review, we are unable to review your record at this time. In the future, we may use your record as a coaster. If, in a caffeine induced trauma, we decide to actually listen to your album, we can tell by the packaging it will induce immediate vomiting." Spin magazine was quoted as saying "Who the freak are DJB & MCH?" QHF Publishing Co., who are behind the re-issue, said "We feel like Rhino Records."

MCH commented on the duo's tour plans. "We decided, in order to cover more ground, we would split up and tour separately. FrenchMasta K has taken off to BC, DJB is touring Europe, and I am, uh, doing extensive touring of, uh, my basement." MCH went on to say "I hate my life."

The duo decided to make the previously unreleased tracks available for download. "Since we made so much money off the first album, selling nearly thirty units, we decided we didn't really need the money and wanted to do this for the fans," MCH said about the decision. The tracks can be downloaded here(right click and 'Save Target As' to download):

The (Abducted and Probed by Aliens) Blues
Das is Good Ya
FrenchMasta K (Lord of the Head-Bang Remix)
Bacon Double Cheese Fry and Gravy

The (Abducted and Probed by Aliens) Blues is the soundtrack to a recurring dream DJB has had, although he says it "definitely isn't a nightmare." Das is Good Ya is written in memory of Julian Woo, whose whereabouts are unknown and who probably got deported. DJB found the lyrics to Bacon Double Cheese Fry and Gravy in a box in his basement a couple years ago, written in crayon (various colours).

Copies of the complete album, with packaging, are available by leaving the editor a comment on this website.

MCH would like to say to DJB and FrenchMasta: "I love you guys. Making this record were some of the best times of my life." *tear*
