About Us

Quit Having Fun (QHF) Publishing Co. is a Saskatoon, SK based art and media company whose main purpose is the distribution of the artwork and literature of its members.

QHF was founded in 1993* in Saskatoon, SK by several University of Saskatchewan students as an outlet for their art, music and literature. The members stay anonymous, allowing them to publish controversial material without being isolated from their community. The QHF members hope to someday be able to make a living off their art.

QHF’s first publication is the parodic zine “The Travestical”. The word "travestical" is a play on the word travesty, meaning "to make a parody of" and the word "magical", reflecting the editor's desire that the publication be a magical travesty.

The first issue was released in September of 2006 with the subline of "If I am not allowed to laugh in heaven, I don't want to go there", a Martin Luther quote. The zine relies heavily on fictionalizing real situations and conversations that happen around the Lutheran Campus Centre on the U of S campus, creating satirical "news".

Future publications include several poetry anthologies as well as the release of records by several local musicians.
